XXXX Summer Bright Lager – Episode 2

Well it’s ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) day in Australia and my kids and I pause to remember those that have fallen before us to allow us live the life that we enjoy in Australia today. We do this every year at our local park where there is a memorial service held on the 25th April.

In this episode I chose to continue my beer journey with XXXX Summer Bright Lager. Brewed by Lion-Nathan (not sure if it is brewed locally here in Brisbane) and it’s a main street brewers in Australia. I’ve done the Brisbane XXXX brewery tour many years ago and I plan on doing it again and covering it for the show.

As I mentioned make sure you check out two other beer online tv shows, two beer queers and

    Nice website, terrible review.

According to taste and smell XXXX SBL barely classifies as a beer.

I would go as far as saying that it is the worst beer brewed in Australia.

May suit 13 to 20 year old kids who want to get drunk and look cool without wanting to enjoy the taste of beer.

    Hi Sam

    Thanks for your thoughts.

What’s a good beer in your books that I can put on the show?

why are u calling these beers pale ales? neither carlton mid or bright LAGER (not ale) are remotely anything close to ales. They are lager/draught beers. Ales are made with a top fermenting yeast, and generally contain a variety of grains compared to a larger which is bottom fermenting. Distinctly different tasting brews.

    Thanks Matt

Looks like I need to do more research before I do a show.

    Appreciate the feedback
